Getting Event ID: 1032 "No credential was found" on other Hub servers
Hi All - we have an Exchange (2k3 & 2k7) org with an Edge Server in the DMZ. All Hub servers were in place and functioning before we created an Edge server. On all but the Hub server where we ran the Edge subscription, I see many Event ID: 1032 "No credential was found" for the Edge server daily. We have no mailflow issues at present. However - we are planning to retire the Hub server that we ran the Edge subscription on - we want to replace it with Exchange 2010. (We will be adding an E2010 CAS server at the same time.)My question is - should we stop the Edge subscription and create a new one with one of the other Hub ser vers, since this one is going away. Is it common that you see Event ID: 1032 "No credential was found" on Hub servers where you did not perform the Edge subscription? Thanks!

Greetings, When transitioning to 2010 you would start with your CAS server and next would be your HT servers. You would create a new subscription with the new HT server. I believe this article will help to answer design/deployment issues with the Transport server transition: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd346708%28EXCHG.140%29.aspx As for the error. That is usually only seen when there is a problem with certificates. There are some steps you can go through to confirm the certificates are working. Here is a link where someone maps out a series of steps: http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800506455/tm.htm And here is an incredible whitepaper on the Edge subscription and synchronization process. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310755.aspx Hope that helps. Please respond back if it does and what you discovered in terms of your certificate. That would help future forum visitors too. J. Peter Bruzzese www.exclusivelyexchange.com (MCT/Triple-MCSE/MCITP)

Hi Peter - Really appreciate your help. - I read your blog regularly.By the time I saw your reply my boss & i had tried re-subscribing to the Edge from a different HT srvr - that has stopped the event. All the info you included in your reply is greatly appreciated; I've saved links permanently for future reference. Thanks!!

Greetings!Nice to have a consistent reader of my InfoWorld column. That is going pretty well actually. I have taken it from 0 readers each month to nearly 50K decision makers and IT admins (well... and my mother, who is neither a decision maker in IT or an admin but she still gets her page clicks counted) ;-)I have tried to broaden my reach to assist more in the community through my web site and other means. But there are others who spend a lot of time helping here in the forums and they have done so for a long time. I need to learn from their good example and do my part.Thanks!J. Peter
